J.U.NE is Célia Forestier’s new ensemble. After the electric madness of “SixRing Circus” and the chamber jazz of “Komorebi”, the singer explores a new, entirely acoustic universe between delicate folk and intrepid jazz.
Between nostalgic melancholy and colorful avant-garde, enchanting nature and delirious urbanity, Japan is a country full of contrasts and contradictions. He is the inspiration behind the repertoire of MEJIRO, a sextet named after a small endemic Japanese sparrow with a jerky but melodious song, but also after a district of Tokyo.
A musical journey full of nuances, beginning with the delicate acoustic folk-jazz of Célia Forestier’s J.U.NE project, and blossoming into the fascinating sonic contrasts of the MEJIRO sextet, whose repertoire is a veritable ode to the paradoxes of Japanese culture.
