About Tour

The program for this exceptional concert was inspired by Liszt’s legendary last concert in Istanbul in 1847.
Indeed, it was through Lamartine that Liszt came to know Turkey, thanks to a letter of recommendation from the poet to the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire.

In this recital, Cyril Huvé takes you on a journey through the soul of Liszt.
Opera paraphrases, including works fromAida and Rigoletto, will be performed with a passion and sensitivity worthy of the composer himself.
The program also includes excerpts from Harmonies poétiques et religieuses .

Winner of the 2010 Victoire de la Musique for his recording of Mendelssohn’s piano works on an 1840 Broadwood, and pioneer of a historically informed approach on period instruments (Liszt/Erard in 1986, Chopin/Pleyel in 1992, Beethoven/Schanz in 2003…), Cyril Huvé immediately felt the urge to feed off the multiple forms adopted by the piano and to question the meaning of works through the keyboards that history has offered to the imagination of composers.

In the majestic setting of the Hôtel Montrevel’s Salle du Conseil, to the sound of a historic 1850 Erard piano identical to those played by Liszt himself, this evening promises an unforgettable experience.
